Overview
The LiveTXT system developed by Liverton is an online and short message (TXT) ordering system. Once registered, customers can immediately place orders with their favourite supplier or outlet. LiveTXT is focused on quick everyday ordering which by-passes the need to queue and wait. Ordering coffee, a burger or a taxi is as easy as sending a TXT message. The outlet receiving the order sends back an acknowledgement with an ETA.
The combination of using Internet based online and short message TXT technologies cultivates a strong positive relationship between the customer and the supplier. It builds brand loyalty and customer retention.
The system is Internet based, centrally hosted (in Wellington) and easy to use.
Specific Innovations
There are several specific innovations which have contributed to LiveTXT’s early success. These include:
- Abbreviated Ordering:
Simple abbreviation codes make ordering a breeze, e.g. LLAT for a Large Latte or MHC for a Medium Hot Chocolate. Most codes are intuitive but the definitive list of codes is available on the online ordering page. - Preferred Ordering:
Once set up, a customer can order their favourite coffee, burger or other product or service by simply TXT-ing a key word (e.g. COFFEE) to LiveTXT. LiveTXT knows what to order and which outlet to send it to. - Simple Online Ordering:
A simple online ordering system devised by Liverton reduces online ordering to a couple of clicks. Customers can see a list of products and extras. During the order process the TXT codes are available for future reference. - Clever use of TXT:
Using TXT messaging to engage the customer ensures that orders are received and collections are made easy. This builds customer satisfaction and loyalty. - Supplier Branding:
Supplier organisations can tailor the LiveTXT screen to be consistent with their own brand. For example, when a customer orders a coffee from Ripe Coffee the order screen has the Ripe brand, when they order a burger from Burger Wisconsin that is the brand they see. This includes personalised help pages that provide details about the supplier as well as how to use LiveTXT.
