Liverton Named RUCKUS Strategic Partner of the Year 2025

17/02/26, 7:00 pm

Liverton has been recognised for their work in delivering reliable, high-performance networks across New Zealand.

When you walk into a hotel lobby or lecture theatre, the network is rarely the first thing you notice. But you notice right away when it is missing. Wi-Fi drops out. Video calls stutter. Check-ins freeze halfway through.

Reliable connectivity has become part of how a space works, sitting alongside lighting, HVAC and access systems as everyday infrastructure. For the past several years, Liverton Group has been delivering network upgrades across New Zealand designed to remove friction from daily experiences and business operations.

That work has now been recognised at a regional level, with Liverton named Strategic Partner of the Year at the 2025 ANZ Partner Awards by RUCKUS Networks.

The award recognises partners who commit to long-term collaboration and consistent outcomes for customers across multiple projects and industries.

As RUCKUS Regional Director David Plummer said:

“Our partners continue to push the boundaries of network connectivity, delivering solutions that empower enterprises, people and communities, and RUCKUS is proud to honor our partners for their outstanding achievements. Congratulations Liverton Group for winning the Strategic Partner of the Year award at RUCKUS ANZ Partner Award 2025.”

Working Together

Together, the two organisations bring complementary strengths to each project. RUCKUS develops enterprise networking hardware designed for dense, high-demand environments, while Liverton manages the sales, design and engineering within customer environments.

Working together predominantly across the hospitality, education, and retirement living sectors, the focus for both companies remains consistent: to provide stable and reliable connectivity that people don’t need to think about. And while this sounds simple, it’s much more than connecting people to browsers or streaming apps, its connecting important technology that helps the users to live, learn, and enables businesses to operate with ease.

A Nationwide Upgrade at Massey University

One of the largest projects completed together was the nationwide upgrade for Massey University, spanning multiple campuses.

The challenge was not simply replacing older hardware. It was creating a consistent digital environment across lecture theatres, libraries, accommodation and outdoor spaces where students move constantly throughout the day.

RUCKUS infrastructure formed the foundation while Liverton handled planning, staging and optimisation, ensuring performance remained reliable even during peak usage periods.

Dr Tere McGonagle-Daly, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Students and Global Engagement at Massey University, emphasised the value for the student experience:

“Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University is committed to providing an exceptional experience for our students, and seamless digital connectivity is fundamental to their academic and personal success. Through our partnership with Liverton, we are enhancing the quality and reliability of our Wi-Fi infrastructure across all campuses, ensuring students can access learning resources, connect with peers and their whānau, and fully engage with campus life. This upgrade reflects our ongoing investment in technology to support innovative teaching, learning, and wellbeing initiatives for our students.”

Today the network sits largely unnoticed, which was absolutely the intended outcome.

Supporting Hotels and Communities

The same approach carries across RUCKUS and Liverton’s hospitality and retirement living projects, including Cordis Auckland, Rydges Auckland, Pullman Hamilton and retirement communities operated by Metlifecare.

For the hotels, hundreds of guests arrive each day, they connect multiple devices and expect immediate performance for streaming, conferencing and digital operations services. The network must respond instantly and consistently, particularly during peak arrival periods.

For retirement living, connection is essential for their communication systems, operational tools and resident services which depend on coverage that remains stable.

Liverton would like to extend a big thanks to the RUCKUS team for their ongoing partnership and shared commitment to delivering reliable infrastructure across this region.

Because in today’s buildings, the experience isn’t just shaped by architecture or design. It’s shaped by connection too.
